The Tīrama Mai festival is back for another year, this time based at Te Matatiki Toi Ora The Arts Centre and right by our Christchurch Tram route!
We’ll be offering special evening Tram rides on Saturday nights during the festival: these family-friendly 20-minute tours will travel along Worcester Boulevard and The Arts Centre past the illuminations, and along Armagh Street and New Regent Streets. Guests will also hear the story of Puaka-Matariki while on board with a live commentary.
- $20 per adult, $5 per child (5-15 years), $50 per family (two adults and up to three children), infants under 5 years free
- Tours depart at 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm & 7pm on Saturday 22 & Saturday 29 June 2024
- Board and disembark at Cathedral Junction (109 Worcester Street) – the atrium departure point is covered for inclement weather
- Rides are approximately 20 minutes
Run by the Christchurch City Council, Tīrama Mai will take place between 21-30 June with lights on display between 5pm – 10pm daily. The event will be based at The Arts Centre with further illumination displays in place along Worcester Boulevard, at Riverside Market and along the Avon River Precinct.
