We’re proud to be partnering with the Salvation Army again this winter to collect blankets and other bedding to support those vulnerable in our local community for a second year.
A Christchurch Tram will be parked in Cathedral Square between 11am – 2pm on Friday 12 July to receive blankets, duvets and comforters from donors which will then be collected by the Salvation Army to be distributed to those who need additional assistance during the colder season. A complimentary adult Christchurch Tram ticket valued at $40 will be given in exchange for donations, and up to three children will be able to accompany the adult using their complimentary Christchurch Tram ticket on board the tramcars.
Christchurch Attractions CEO Marty Byrne says ‘we are delighted to be working with the Salvation Army for a second consecutive year for such an important cause. The winter season is particularly severe in Christchurch overnight, so being able to support our community with donated blankets and other warm bedding is a great way to help those in need. We hope to see plenty of local Cantabrians joining us in Cathedral Square to support this fantastic initiative.’
The organisations ask that donated bedding is either a new or laundered used item, and are very grateful for all donations.
Please join us in Cathedral Square on Friday 12 July to donate a blanket to those in need this winter.
